Currently, software used to process imports/exports provides only limited access to a handful of stakeholders. Developing an API, will allow software that is designed for small to medium sized businesses to cost effectively import and export goods.
Create an API (Application Programming Interface) that will allow any computer programmer to build their own software program to integrate with the DHS and CBP computer system. This creates opportunities to increase the speed of processing the paperwork as it relates to importing and exporting goods. Your task for this challenge will require you to build an App (Mobile or Web-based) that will incorporate APIs to submit import/export information to the Department of Homeland Security while at the same time incorporate this information into another 3rd party program such as Amazon, Salesforce.com, Microsoft Bizspark or IBM’s Bluemix Platform
Winning teams will be awarded cash and prizes totaling over $15,000
