Tech Day on Parliament Hill: May 31st, 2016

    Purpose:     The purpose of this event is to connect tech entrepreneurs with the policy decision makers on Parliament Hill.   This is the 2nd Annual Tech Day on the Hill.  The sessions are targeted towards Parliament Hill staffers who will learn 1st hand the issues facing SMB Tech Entrepreneurs.

    9:15 a.m The Sharing Economy  (Panel Discussion)The sharing economy is taking hold in Canada.  This multi-billion dollar shift in the economy is changing the face of how Canadians consume products and services.  What is the lasting long term affects both positive/negative that this is causing? What role does government play in this space and how can they provide value to all stakeholders.

    10:30 a.m “What is Currently Happening on Parliament Hill (Panel Discussion)”A View from Inside the Hill: Hear from the Reporters and InsidersHear directly from reporters and other stakeholders as to what is happening inside Parliament.  How does it affect entrepreneurs and which issues are MPs addressing in the current session of parliament.  How is the government helping to free the flow of capital across the US-Canada Border?

    11:30 a.m Key Pointers Before Meeting with MP’s & StaffersThis session will focus on what tech CEO’s should expect when meeting with MPs and Staffers.  Present talking points and issues that should be highlighted on hill visits. Answer any questions from tech CEOs. What is on the government’s agenda (i.e. Job creation, streamlining shared services etc.) How to engage the Canadian tech community with these objectives.
